Day 1 - Arrival in Paro – Gateway to Romance in the Himalayas

As your plane dips beneath the clouds, the Himalayas rise like silent guardians—snow peaks glittering in the sunlight. Look for the towering Jumolhari and Jichu Drake, their ancient summits etched against the sky. Just before you land, the lush Paro Valley comes into view, a patchwork of green fields, traditional farmhouses, and winding rivers.

At Paro International Airport, our warm-hearted team will greet you and escort you on a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. Along the way, the cool mountain air and fluttering prayer flags will set the tone for your journey.

Highlight of the day: A visit to the Bhutan National Museum, home to exquisite thangka paintings, intricate sculptures, and textiles that shimmer in colors found only in the Himalayas. Later, take a leisurely stroll through Thimphu’s markets and cafés before enjoying a candlelit Bhutanese dinner.

Day 2 - Thimphu’s Spiritual Heart – Monuments, Monasteries, and Handcrafted Treasures

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast featuring Bhutan’s traditional dishes and fresh mountain tea. Visit the King’s Memorial Chorten, a beloved monument dedicated to Bhutan’s third king. Its golden spire and serene white walls make it a perfect backdrop for honeymoon photos.

From here, your journey unfolds through Thimphu’s cultural gems:

Day 3 - Thimphu’s Living Heritage – Museums and Ancient Fortresses

Today, immerse yourselves in Bhutan’s cultural tapestry. At the Bhutan Textile Museum and Folk Heritage Museum, trace the threads of Bhutanese life from the weaver’s loom to the hearth of a traditional farmhouse.

Continue to Simtokha Dzong, Bhutan’s oldest fortress, whose whitewashed walls have stood since the 17th century. Pose for portraits here with the mountains as your eternal witness.

Spend the evening at leisure, perhaps wandering through Thimphu’s night markets before returning to your hotel for a romantic dinner.

Day 4 - The Lovers’ Road to Punakha – Through Dochula Pass to the Palace of Happiness

Depart Thimphu for Punakha via the breathtaking Dochula Pass. Here, 108 whitewashed chortens stand against a backdrop of Himalayan peaks, their prayer flags fluttering in the high-altitude breeze.

Arriving in Punakha, cross Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge to reach Punakha Dzong, a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture where the Pho Chu (Male) and Mo Chu (Female) rivers meet—a symbolic union of yin and yang.

In the late afternoon, hike to Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple built by the Divine Madman, whose unconventional blessings are believed to bring joy and prosperity to couples.

Day 5 - From Punakha’s Legends to Paro’s Charm

After breakfast, visit Wangdue Dzong, perched high on a ridge with sweeping valley views. Its name, meaning “to bring under one’s power,” speaks to its strategic and spiritual importance.

By afternoon, journey to Paro and check in at your hotel. Spend the evening exploring Paro’s quaint streets and artisan shops, picking up handwoven scarves, prayer wheels, and keepsakes.

Day 6 - The Iconic Taktsang Monastery – Love at the Edge of Heaven

This morning, hike through fragrant pine forests to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), clinging to a cliff 900 meters above the valley floor. Legend holds that Guru Padmasambhava arrived here on the back of a flying tigress, bringing Buddhism to Bhutan.

Pause midway at a traditional teahouse for refreshments and sweeping views of the monastery. Continue upward to explore its sacred halls, where the air hums with the sound of prayer wheels and chanting monks.

After your descent, enjoy a relaxed afternoon in Paro, perhaps sipping coffee in a riverside café or browsing the craft markets.
