Day 1 - Arrival in Paro – Gateway to Your Bhutan Bike Adventure
Your Bhutan cycling holiday begins with one of the most spectacular flights on Earth. As your plane threads between the snow-capped Himalayas, you’ll glimpse Bhutan’s legendary peaks before landing in Paro. Our Ling Travel Bhutan representative greets you warmly.
After lunch, explore Paro’s treasures including the National Museum (Ta Dzong) and Rinpung Dzong, cycling-friendly attractions that offer deep insight into Bhutanese history and culture. Stroll across a centuries-old wooden bridge before your Bhutan trip briefing.

Day 2 - Paro to Thimphu – Scenic Rivers and Rice Fields (Cycling in Bhutan)
Start pedalling along a gentle gradient ideal for bike touring in Bhutan. The road winds past emerald rice paddies, pine forests, and chorten-dotted hillsides. Enjoy a riverside picnic before cycling into Thimphu via the Bridge of Prophecy and the historic Semtokha Dzong.

Day 3 - Explore Thimphu – Cultural Highlights of Your Bhutan Cycling Trip
Discover the National Memorial Chorten, Changangkha Lhakhang, and the School of Arts and Crafts where Bhutan’s 13 traditional arts thrive. Visit the National Library, Folk Heritage Museum, and the Takin Reserve before ending at Tashichho Dzong.

Day 4 - Thimphu to Punakha – Crossing Dochu La Pass by Bicycle
Cycle 22 km uphill to Dochu La Pass (3,100 m), a key highlight of many Himalayan cycling tours. Enjoy panoramic mountain views before a thrilling 50 km downhill ride into Punakha Valley. Visit Punakha Dzong, a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture.

Day 5 - Punakha to Trongsa – Central Bhutan Bike Ride
Visit Wangduephodrang Dzong before driving and optionally cycling over Pele La Pass (3,420 m). Stop at Chendibji Chorten before arriving at the commanding Trongsa Dzong.

Day 6 - Trongsa to Bumthang – Cycling into Bhutan’s Spiritual Heartland
Explore Trongsa Dzong before ascending to Yutung La Pass (3,400 m). Enjoy a sweeping downhill ride into Chummey Valley and on to Jakar in Bumthang Valley, a cycling highlight for its beauty and serenity.

Day 7 - Sacred Sites of Bumthang
Visit Kurjey Lhakhang, Jambay Lhakhang, Jakar Dzong, and Tamshing Lhakhang, all key cultural stops on a Bhutan cultural cycling tour.

Day 8 - Cycling to Ura Valley – High Passes and Remote Villages
Climb to Shertang La Pass with views of Lunana’s peaks before descending into Ura Valley. Return to Jakar by evening.

Day 9 - Bumthang to Punakha
Drive back with optional road cycling segments.

Day 10 - Punakha to Thimphu via Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten
Ride to this hilltop chorten with stunning valley views. Picnic by the river before returning to Punakha, then drive to Thimphu.

Day 11 - Thimphu to Paro – Scenic Ride or Drive
Cycle or drive to Paro, with time to explore the weekend market if in Thimphu.

Day 12 - Taktsang Monastery – The Tiger’s Nest Hike
Hike or ride partway to Taktsang Monastery, Bhutan’s most iconic landmark. After lunch, cycle or drive to Drukgyel Dzong with views of Mount Jomolhari.

Day 13 - Farewell to the Land of the Thunder Dragon
After breakfast, transfer to Paro Airport for your onward flight.
